Frommer's Review
This is the largest of the Orlando factory outlet centers. Currently it has 170 stores in two enclosed malls and four shopping annexes. Reconstruction of the property, however, is ongoing. Upon completion (phase one set for late 2007, phase two for late 2008), the architectural transformation to covered outdoor mall (similar to the way the Premium outlets are laid out) will ensure a more shopper-friendly experience. It offers a wide range of merchandise, and in a few cases the savings can be 75% off retail prices, but, as is the case with most outlets, most buys here are no better than what you'll find in discount houses in your hometown. There are more than a dozen shoe stores (Bass, Nike, Rockport, and so on); nearly as many housewares shops (Fitz & Floyd, Oneida, and more); a Universal Studios Outlet; and 60-some clothing shops for men, women, and children (Neiman Marcus Last Call, the Gap, Levi's, Van Heusen, OshKosh B'Gosh, Izod, Guess Jeans, and others). You can also shop for books, records, electronics, sporting goods, health and beauty aids, jewelry, toys, gifts, accessories, lingerie, and hosiery.
Having to go from building to building, having to get in and out of your car several times over just to shop here once kept this shopping center off my list of favorites -- its newly designed layout, however, has me thinking twice. The only remaining difficulty is its off-the-beaten-path location. Unless you're staying close to Universal Orlando, the other outlet options make a much better choice.
