Thanks to a burgeoning film industry and a handy location that's an easy day's drive from Erfoud, Marrakech, and Taroudannt, Ouarzazate has a good selection of accommodations to suit all budgets. In the past, supply heavily outweighed demand, but Ouarzazate is greatly benefiting from Morocco's determined push for increased tourism. Most travelers still only stay for 1 night, but there are more and more travelers arriving each year. Accommodations are spread out and, as previously mentioned, some travelers don't even venture off their hotel grounds. For those who do, petits taxis are easy to hail on avenue Mohammed V to return to your hotel.
The temperature in Ouarzazate can be stifling in the summer months of July and August and bitterly cold from December to February, so it's definitely worth considering a room with air-conditioning or heating, respectively.
