Planning a TripGetting There -- By Car -- U.S. 550 runs through the heart of Ouray, paralleling the Uncompahgre River and connecting it with Durango to the south and Montrose to the north. As you enter town from the north, the highway becomes Main Street. Above Third Avenue, U.S. 550 begins its climb up switchbacks to the Million Dollar Highway. Visitor Information -- Stop at the Ouray Visitor Center beside the Ouray Hot Springs Pool, on U.S. 550 at the north end of town, open from 9am to 5pm Monday through Wednesday, 9am to 7pm Thursday through Saturday, and 10am to 4pm Sunday; or contact the Ouray Chamber Resort Association, P.O.
