One of Palermo's most avant-garde restaurants occupies a two-story storefront a few steps off the posh edges of the Via Libertà. Its minimalist stainless steel and ebony decor is radically different from the interiors of more staid competitors; you'll find a serpentine bar, ostrich-skin upholstery, and a simultaneously formal and ultramodern upstairs dining room. This vividly theatrical setting is presided over by the intensely social owner.

Menu items vary with the seasons. Expect artful preparations of Sicilian-style smoked and grilled fresh fish; a succulent spaghetti ricci, seasoned with sea urchins, tomatoes, and herbs; and fresh salads, including a tantalizing version made from arugula, pink grapefruit, avocado, scampi, and lobster.
