Shopping

Sightseeing and shopping can be combined in Pensacola's Palafox and Seville historic districts, where many shops are housed in renovated centuries-old buildings. The Quayside Art Gallery, Plaza Ferdinand, at Zaragosa and Jefferson streets (tel. 850/438-2363; www.quaysidegallery.com), is the largest cooperative gallery in the Southeast. More than 100 artists display their works here. The friendly staff will direct you to other nearby galleries as well.

The Blue Moon Antique Mall, 3721 W. Navy Blvd. (tel. 850/455-7377; www.antiqueguide.biz/bluemoon.htm), is the oldest and largest antiques mall in Pensacola. Open Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 5pm and Sunday noon to 5pm, it has over 65 shops selling antiques and collectibles at reasonable prices.

Browsers will enjoy poking through the 400-dealer space at the Flea Market, on U.S. 98 opposite the Zoo, 15 miles east of Pensacola (tel. 850/934-1971). It's open on Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 5pm. Admission is free.
