Frommer's Review
Atop a cliff 8km (5 miles) from Petra, Taybet Zaman is the most charming and unusual hostelry in Jordan. Rustic buildings of a 19th-century village have been renovated and decorated in a Bedouin-style chic that could easily grace the pages of Architectural Digest; the village lanes are now passageways for the hotel. The older rooms, created from village buildings, are each different and most interesting; the suites are amazing and great fun. A newer section offers rooms with sweeping views and Bedouin decor, but they're not as exotic. There is an attentive staff and spectacular vistas of the countryside. A sumptuous buffet dinner, often accompanied by traditional music, is offered April through November (and the rest of the year according to demand) for $21 (£11) per person. A drawback is the taxi ride from the hills down to Petra.
Facilities:
Restaurant; 2 pools; fitness center; Jacuzzi; sauna; laundry service

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
