Frommer's Review
Revolutionary War hero John Paul ("I have not yet begun to fight") Jones lived in this 1758 home during the war. He was here to oversee the construction of his sloop, Ranger, believed to be the first ship to sail under the U.S. flag (a model is on display). Immaculately restored and maintained by the Portsmouth Historical Society, tours are self-guided.
