A sleek and spare spot dotted with splashes of color, it also features an open kitchen and a polished steel bar. Jay's attracts a younger, culinary-attuned clientele. The day's fresh catch is posted on blackboards; you pick the fish, and pair it up with sauces, such as salsa verde, ginger-orange, or roasted red pepper. Pasta dishes are also an option -- add scallops, mussels, or chicken as you like. The food's great, and the attention to detail by the kitchen and waitstaff is admirable.
