Frommer's Review
Innkeeper Margot Doering keeps things running smoothly and happily at this friendly B&B in a residential neighborhood a short walk from downtown, and that's why I like it so much. The inn consists of two period buildings: a main house (built around 1815) and a second guesthouse built 35 years later. All rooms have queen-size beds, writing tables, and sofas or sitting areas, and are variously appointed with distinguished wallpapers, porcelains, antiques, love seats, four-poster or brass beds, and the like. Each has its own character -- from the Master Bedroom, with pine floors, to the Victorian Rose Room, to the mahogany-lined Library Room (the only room with two beds). There's also a relaxing greenhouse -- a suite, really, with sitting room, solarium, and access to the outdoors. A stone path leads to a small, beautiful garden, and the gourmet breakfast is a highlight: It usually consists of blueberry-pecan pancakes, served with Canadian bacon and real maple syrup, or delicious apple Belgian waffles topped with a nutmeg-ginger sauce.
