This is an adequate destination for travelers willing to give up charm for convenience. The former brewery was made over in the 1980s in a bit of inspired recycling: Condos occupy the top floor, while the Seacoast Repertory Theatre (tel. 603/433-4472) occupies the first. The second floor is the Bow Street Inn, a 10-room hotel that offers good access to historic Portsmouth. Guest rooms, set off a rather sterile hallway, are clean, comfortable, small, and, for the most part, unexceptional. Only rooms 6 and 7 feature good views of the harbor, and a premium is charged for these. Parking is on the street or at a nearby paid garage; a parking pass is included with harborview rooms.
