Frommer's Review
Opened in 2005, largely as a service to the occupants of the condo development rising on the hill behind it, the restaurant emphasizes fish. Originally a tented, open-sided pavilion with a patio of umbrella tables, it was on a May-to-Columbus-Day schedule. It proved so popular, though, there was soon talk of enclosing at least part of the space and extending the season. That's understandable. There's that wide vista of Sakonnet Bay out there, and the food is fresh, clean, and varied. Raw clams and oysters are native, the seafood stew has local ingredients, and the salads, often seafood based, are large enough to serve as light lunches. One such is the salt cod with romaine, roasted peppers, red onion, olives, and chickpeas. Most of the entrees are simplicity itself, an exception being the Jamaican jerk tautog with tropical fruit salsa, red beans, and rice. This is good place to try out the wines of Sakonnet Vineyards, especially chardonnay and vidal blanc. Be sure to call ahead for details of changes.
