The Four Seasons Resort has brought a new standard of luxury to Mexico's Pacific Coast. The boutique hotel artfully combines seclusion and pampering service with a welcoming sense of comfort. Accommodations are in three-story casitas surrounding the main building, which holds the lobby, cultural center, restaurants, shopping arcade, and oceanfront pool. Every guest room offers breathtaking views of the ocean from a large terrace or balcony. Most suites also offer a private plunge pool, a separate sitting room, a bar, and a powder room. Room interiors are typical Four Seasons -- plush and spacious, with a king or two double beds, a seating area, and an oversize bathroom with a deep soaking tub, separate glass-enclosed shower, and dual vanity sink. More than the stylish luxury, this hotel boasts unerring service that is both warm and unobtrusive. At least 45 minutes from Puerto Vallarta's activities, it's the perfect get-away -- but then, most guests feel so relaxed and at ease, it's hard to think of venturing beyond the resort at all. The full-service spa, tennis center, and private championship golf course seem to be options enough. In 2006, Four Seasons unveiled an adults-only tranquillity pool, complete with champagne and caviar bar, and surrounded by cabañas available for daily rent, that come equipped with wireless Internet, plasma TVs, and a comfy daybed. In 2007, they expanded their popular Kids for All Seasons club, plus added a building of rooms geared for family travelers, surrounded by a Lazy River, as well as yacht charters. In addition to the sumptuous rooms and suites, the resort now offers private 4- and 5-bedroom villas for guest stays, complete with private butler services.
