To get to this 16th-century ivy-covered manor, you travel down a tree-lined avenue, through a stone gate, and into a courtyard. On your right is a formal garden; stone terraces lead to 10 hectares (25 acres) of woodland. M. and Mme. Hubert provide gracious lodging in period rooms. Guests stay in the main building or in the even older but less desirable annex, which has a circular stone staircase. Your room is likely to be furnished with silk and fine antiques; each midsize bathroom comes with a combination tub/shower. One luxury is the maid who brings your breakfast on a tray each morning.
