With an elevation change of only 160 feet, this is an easy and scenic walk along Glacier Creek to pretty Alberta Falls. You'll cross the creek four times over wooden bridges. Along the trail you'll see beaver dams and an abundance of golden-mantled ground squirrels. For the first .25 mile, the trail is smooth and level as it passes among fir, spruce, and aspen groves, which are especially colorful in the early fall. Then the trail gets a bit steeper, somewhat uneven, and sunnier, with views of the Mummy Mountain Range. From the falls -- among the park's most impressive -- you can turn around and walk back to the trail head or continue to Mills Lake. The starting elevation is 9,244 feet.
