This pleasant walk along the North St. Vrain Creek can be among the park's most colorful. There's an abundance of wildflowers, such as wild rose, during the summer, and fall colors are supplied by an abundance of quaking aspen and Rocky Mountain maple, accented by the deep green of ponderosa pines. The trail leads to Copeland Falls, a small waterfall created by a sudden drop in the creek. Photographers will find that morning light is best for shooting the falls. The almost-flat trail rises 15 feet from its beginning elevation of 8,500 feet. From the falls you can turn around and head back to the trail head, or you can continue on to Calypso Cascades .
