It's good to know there's a reward at the end of this challenging hike. From the trail head, it's a little over a mile of steep climbing through the woods up Copeland Moraine. The ridge is achieved after several short switchbacks, and the trail from Meeker Park joins from the right. About another mile of climbing brings you to Campers Creek crossing. From there it's another mile to Hunters Creek crossing, and the final mile of the climb brings you to one of the prettiest lakes in the park, with an attractive beach and striking mountains in the distance. The beginning elevation is 8,316 feet, and the elevation gain is 1,971 feet.
