Frommer's Review
A lively Americanized version of a Mexican cantina, Cafe Pierpont is colorfully decorated with festive touches that give the restaurant an every-day-is-a-fiesta atmosphere. Portions are generous, to say the least, and the quality is excellent, although those accustomed to the fiery chile of New Mexico may find some of the dishes here a bit tame. All of the standard tacos, enchiladas, and burritos are available, along with more exotic Mexican specialties and a good selection of fresh seafood. But the fajitas are the real attraction -- choose from mesquite-grilled chicken or beef, delivered to your table sizzling hot along with onions, guacamole, black beans, and hot handmade tortillas. We also recommended the coconut-dipped jumbo Mexican white shrimp, an appetizer served with jalapeño jelly. Finish up with the flan, a traditional Mexican custard covered with caramel sauce. Full liquor service (including 100 varieties of tequila) is available.
