Frommer's Review
A favorite with local couples, The Anniversary Inn makes for a fun romantic getaway, with themed rooms like the Jungle Safari (which features a life-size elephant), the hieroglyphic-clad Mysteries of Egypt, and the treehouse-themed Swiss Family Robinson. (The most popular is the luxurious Romeo and Juliet Suite, complete with marble, columns, and sweeping circular staircase.) Built on the site of an early-20th-century jail in a quiet, shady nook east of downtown, the inn has fun details in every room, as well as fireplaces, two-person jetted tubs, and surround-sound systems. Cheesecake and sparkling cider are waiting in your room at check-in; continental breakfast is delivered in the morning. There's also a 14-room Anniversary Inn in the historic Kahn Mansion, 678 E. South Temple, which shares a website and a phone with its larger sister property and is otherwise similar (with themed rooms and romantic perks), except for the lack of on-site restaurant.
