Frommer's Review
Effortlessly combining a generous dose of class with just a dash of quirk, Salt Lake City's Hotel Monaco occupies the 14-story former Continental Bank Building, built in 1924 and home of the world's first drive-through teller. The colorful lobby mixes classic and contemporary, as do the flamboyant rooms, which captivate with an eclectic array of patterns and colors. Goldfish are provided to those who don't have Fido in tow; Sweet Tarts are left behind upon nightly turndown service; and many rooms have spectacular city views. The Monaco is also home to an excellent restaurant, Bambara, and pumps complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the building, guest rooms included.
Facilities:
Restaurant; bar; exercise room; sauna; concierge; car rental; airport shuttle; business center; 24-hr. room service; dry cleaning

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
