This one-time chain motel was gutted in 2003 and is now a first-rate independent, clad in colorful stucco and equipped with stylish guest rooms. Art Deco reproductions and prints of Wizard of Oz characters hang above the beds (the Wicked Witch of the West excluded). Rooms have either one king-size bed or two queen-size, and the suites have microwaves, fridges, and a full-size hide-a-bed. The dinky outdoor pool is summer-only, but the hot tub is year-round. A Wi-Fi network serves the entire property, and there's a computer available in the lobby for guests without their own.
