I love city museums. Pouring over old maps and photographs to see how a city grew and what people were wearing at a particular time fascinates me. In this case, however, curators have done such an uninspired job it's hardly worth the effort. The museum has some old photos and a few maps, but there's not much in the way of signage and what little there is certainly is not in English. There's also a display on Candomblé featuring various Orixás, but for that you're better off going to the Afro-Brasilian museum.
