Frommer's Review
This beautiful faux-rustic modern restaurant with exposed brick and expansive glass walls opens up to a lovely patio overlooking the ocean and seawall in Barra. It's an excellent destination, whether it's for lunch, dinner, or just a drink and some tapas. In addition to the typical Brazilian snacks such as deep-fried cod or prawn dumplings (bolinho de bacalhau and pastel de camarão), you'll find bruschetta with ham and goat cheese or grilled squid in teriyaki sauce. Main courses range from pastas and risottos to grilled seafood and steak. The restaurant has a large wine list with a number of affordable Portuguese, French, and Italian wines in the R$40 to R$90 (US$17-US$38) range. Pereira is especially busy on weekends when Salvador's young and beautiful gather to preen and be seen. Tip: Right next door is the Japanese eatery Sato, run by the same owners. Don't bother. If you really want Japanese go to SOHO .
