Rock in Rio is modeled after the now-defunct club in Rio, which in turn was inspired by a popular Rio concert series. Similar to a Hard Rock Cafe, the Rock in Rio is loaded with the memorabilia of famous musicians, mostly Brazilian pop and rock stars. Though not worth a visit as a dance club, the venue does regularly put on big shows with well known regional and national artists. Check their listings online (www.rockinriocafesalvador.com.br) to see who's playing. Open Thursday through Saturday 9pm to 4am, Sunday 8pm to 2am.
