Strassewirt ReviewSet within a 10-minute walk south of Salzburg's historic core, this restaurant occupies three indoor dining rooms and also, during clement weather, one of the most charming gardens in town. The much-renovated building that contains it was constructed 200 years ago, and now houses the culinary intelligence of Chef Christian Sussetz and his wife, Alexandra, who oversees the service of the dining room staff. Menu items celebrate the cuisine and the agrarian bounty of Austria. Main courses include roasted mountain lamb from nearby high-altitude meadows, served with polenta and zucchini; venison that exerts a strong appeal, served with a celery-flavored cream sauce; and fresh Atlantic char that's simply grilled and served with cucumber salad and roasted potatoes.
