Set within a short walk of Salzburg's medieval core, this establishment contains time-share units and some conventional hotel accommodations. Most of the theatrical-looking design you'll see today derives from a radical renovation that occurred in the late 1980s, when a 19th-century shell was gutted and reconfigured into the vaguely Jugendstil-style setting you see today. Accommodations are scattered over three floors; each is painted a pale yellow and named after a composer or a writer. All rooms are comfortable, neatly maintained, and equipped with well-kept shower-only bathrooms. As a result of its artistic theme, the hotel's clientele includes lots of singers and composers. The Barcarole restaurant serves dinner only.
