Frommer's Review
The rooms in this hotel, installed in the bases of 14th-century tower stumps, vary in size; some are quite large and others seem almost cramped, but all are comfortable, with firm beds and a tastefully uncluttered decor. The place was scenic enough to serve as a set for the film version of E. M. Forster's novel Where Angels Fear to Tread. You have a choice of views: the piazza side with its towers vista or the verdant valley out back. (Don't go for the cheapest rooms with no view at all; you get at least a vista, if not a balcony, starting at 115€/$150.) The breakfast room and bar sit in the well-preserved brick- and tufa-walled base of one of the towers. You'll find one of the town's best Tuscan restaurants here.
