Song of the Sea Review

Popular with Europeans, this beachside inn has efficiencies and one-bedroom suites with plantation-style shutters behind sliding-glass doors opening to screened porches. Don't expect a lot of extra space in the suites, with bedrooms barely large enough to hold their king-size beds (with 300-thread-count linens); still, the decor is quite lovely. Furnished in French-country style (the hotel calls it West Indies style, so consider it a cross btw. the two), the rooms have oak tables and chairs, and pine Bahamian shutters on patio doors and windows. A pathway leads to the next-door Sanibel Inn , where guests can use the facilities. An extensive continental breakfast is served in the public building and eaten at umbrella tables on a brick patio. Guests get discounts on the facilities at Sundial Beach Resort .

Facilities:
Heated outdoor pool; access to nearby health club; Jacuzzi; free use of bikes; babysitting; coin-op washers/dryers

About Our System

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.

Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.

The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
