Solaris Holiday Resort: Hotel Niko

Five separate hotels comprise this huge development 4km (2 1/2 miles) southwest of Sibenik that collectively can accommodate more than 3,000 guests at once. To be sure, the hotels are designed for families and tour groups who need value for their kunas, but they also are an ideal base for exploring Sibenik and nearby Krka National Park. The complex also has a spa where you can destress tired feet after hiking around the Krka waterfalls. Most rooms are the same compact, no-nonsense dorm style, but the Ivan and Niko were updated most recently (2005) and are the freshest.
