Getting There

From Århus, follow Route 15 west to Silkeborg. If you aren't driving, there's frequent train service from Copenhagen via Fredericia.

Visitor Information

The Silkeborg Turistbureau is at Godthåbsvej 4 (tel. 86-82-19-11; www.silkeborg.com). It's open June 15 to August, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am to 2pm; September, October, and April to June 14, Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm, Saturday 10am to 1pm; November to March, Monday to Friday 10am to 3pm. In December the office is also open Saturday 10am to 1pm.

Getting Around

Numerous bus routes service the city; all local buses depart from the stop on Fredensgade. There's no number to call for information. Tickets cost 20DKK ($3.40/£1.80) per individual ride, or 23DKK ($3.90/£2.10) if you need a transfer.
