Frommer's Review
You'd think a room in the tallest hotel in Southeast Asia would cost a bundle, but this gem is reasonably priced. Besides, with an amazing location, right on top of a subway hub and a huge shopping complex, walking distance from many sights and attractions, the Swissôtel is a great value for the money. On a clear day you can see over urban Singapore's downtown financial district, so make sure you request a room with a view. However, guest rooms, while larger than the city's average, feel bland and barren, in boring neutral tones with few decorator touches. In some spots, furnishings and carpets can use a face-lift -- while a good bargain, this hotel is desperate for a re-haul to keep up with its neighbors.
Facilities: 10 restaurants; martini bar, lobby lounge, and a live jazz venue; outdoor pool; spa w/gym, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam, and massage; concierge; limousine service; business center; shopping arcade adjacent; 24-hr. room service; babysitting; same-day laundry service; dry cleaning; nonsmoking rooms; executive-level rooms

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
