Formerly The Allson Hotel, this continues to be a strong tourist-class hotel in the city's historic district, despite a big jump in price. Deluxe guest rooms have been completely redecorated with contemporary furnishings, including a few pieces from the old Allson, namely the attractive Ming-style end tables that remind guests that they're in Asia. Premium rooms are more European in flavor, with free Internet and soft drinks. Bathrooms are very small but clean, with combined tub/shower. The small pool area and even smaller gym have received some maintenance touch-ups. There are no views here, but all windows are built with double glass to block the sound from the busy street below.
