Frommer's Review
Amara, located in the Shenton Way financial district, attracts primarily business travelers, so if your vacation includes a little business too, this hotel puts you closer to the action. If you're simply in town for a vacation, though, Amara probably isn't your best choice. The top eight floors of this hotel are reserved for the corporate set -- not only do they have better views, but modern decor and services attractive to business visitors as well. Rooms on the Leisure Floors have an unappealing combination of green and white painted furniture and very little to offer in terms of views.
Facilities:2 restaurants; lounge; outdoor pool; outdoor, lighted tennis courts; fitness center w/Jacuzzi, jogging track, sauna, steam, and massage; concierge; limousine service; business center; shopping arcade; salon; 24-hr. room service; babysitting; same-day laundry service; dry cleaning and self-service laundry; nonsmoking rooms; executive-level rooms

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
