Frommer's Review
The Regent is tucked between Cuscaden and Tanglin roads, at the northern end of Orchard Road -- you'll have to hike about 10 minutes to get to the center of things. But check out the lobby in this place! It's a huge, three-level atrium affair with windows on three sides, a skylight, fountains, plenty of small private meeting nooks, and raised walkways straight out of The Jetsons. The guest rooms have high ceilings and are decorated with Chinese motifs in refurbished fabrics, but the bathrooms are smaller than at most other comparable hotels. You have to request coffee/tea-making facilities in your room; otherwise the service is free in the tea lounge, which also serves a high tea the old-fashioned way, with silver tray service.
Facilities:2 restaurants; very cool bar; lobby tea lounge; outdoor pool; fitness center w/steam and massage; concierge; limousine service; business center; 24-hr. room service; babysitting; same-day laundry service; dry cleaning; nonsmoking rooms; executive-level rooms

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
