Shangri-La's Rasa Sentosa Resort

Set on an immaculate white-sand beach fringed with coconut palms, this is Singapore's only true beachfront hotel. Great outdoor activities make the Rasa Sentosa particularly attractive, with a sea-sports center offering windsurfing, sailing, and paddle skiing. There's a large free-form swimming pool in the gardens, a jogging track, aqua bike rentals, an outdoor Jacuzzi, and a fully equipped spa with gym, sauna, body and facial treatments, hydromassage, and massage therapies. For children, there is a separate pool with water slides (no lifeguard, though), a playground, a nursery, and a games room.

This hotel has undergone a massive renovation and will reopen in late 2011 with a completely new look from head to toe. It will still be under Shangri-La's apt management, so this will likely continue to be a good bet. The resort is connected to Singapore's downtown by frequent and free shuttles.
