Frommer's Review
Designed with romance in mind, the Sentosa Resort & Spa's small resort-style buildings, fashioned after the famous resorts of Phuket, Thailand, are connected with covered walkways encircling lily ponds and courtyard gardens. Here, the designers have done a great job combining clean modern lines with tropical touches to produce a sophisticated getaway with relaxing charm. Lazy terraces and cozy alcoves tucked all over the grounds invite guests to unwind in privacy -- perfect for intimate candlelight dinners that can be requested anywhere you like. The centerpiece is the new spa, built into a garden setting -- it is opulent and relaxing.
The standard guest rooms in the five-story hotel building are small but stunning, featuring camphor burl-wood doors and accents, Thai silk screens in natural browns and greens, and deep tubs and separate showers in the bathrooms, surrounded by thick celadon green tiling and sleek black granite details. Ask for views of the golf course, which are prettier than the views of the hotel courtyards and buildings. Butlers wait round-the-clock to serve you -- a standard feature for all rooms.
