NightlifeAs this is a family vacation spot, the after-dark scene is a little sparse. Nights at the Grand Casino, square de Grand (tel. 04-98-11-17-77), feature slot machines and gambling, plus a nightly dance party in summer with an upbeat orchestra. The slot machines are open daily from 10am to 4am; gambling begins at 9pm, and the dance club opens at 10pm. One of our favorite bars is Le Coco Club, Port Santa Lucia (tel. 04-98-12-62-13); open daily, where live music and stiff drinks contribute to a kind of gregarious, often flirtatious conviviality. Alternative choices include La Réserve (tel. 04-94-95-02-02), a popular disco with a punk-rock crowd between 16 and 25. Gay men and women tend to congregate at Le Ganesh Pub, 16 rue Charabois (tel. 06-10-21-08-89), where disco music and a long-standing reputation as a dance palace can be animated and fun for everyone.
