This longtime favorite enjoys one of the best romantic settings on the island. On a beautiful white veranda, opening onto views, this restaurant is for serious foodies. Filled with casual redwood furniture and opening onto a garden, it is a citadel of fine wines and grand cuisine. Chefs treat their products with sensitivity and care, fashioning them into such appetizers as a flower-poached egg with chorizo and date marmalade or steamed tiger shrimp with passion-fruit-flavored ratatouille. For a main course, expect such delights as mahimahi with white coco beans and a foie gras puree or pan-roasted red snapper accompanied by a black sesame coulis with tangerine milk.
