This is hardly the most luxurious or stylish lodging on an island that's legendary for its glamour and its five-star hotels. But the hotel's three-star format, its relatively low rates, and the warm welcome extended by its island-born owners, Mr. and Mrs. Felix and their daughter Marie-Joelle, make it a worthy vacation site. It's a 10-minute drive from the beach. The colonial-designed guest rooms are filled with completely unpretentious furniture and comfortable king-size beds. A modern room was added in 2004. Called "New Moon," it offers a panoramic deck and a private pergola. There's plenty of elbowroom and units were built to catch the trade winds. Bathrooms are compact and have shower stalls.
