Christiansted is the shopping hub of St. Croix. The emphasis here is on hole-in-the-wall boutiques selling handmade goods. Most of the shops are compressed into a half-mile or so. Along the boardwalk is the King's Alley Complex, a pink-sided compound filled with the densest concentration of shops on St. Croix.

In recent years, Frederiksted has also become a popular shopping destination. Its urban mall appeals to cruise-ship passengers arriving at Frederiksted Pier.
