This intimate and tasteful property is about 8 miles from the airport, midway between the island's two biggest towns. It's set on a well-landscaped plot of oceanfront property on Cane Bay, the heart of the best scuba and snorkeling at Cane Bay Beach, though the beach here is rocky and tends to disappear at high tide. The hotel features a unique saltwater grotto, which is great for teaching children how to snorkel. The hotel also includes free snorkeling equipment for those who want to further explore Cane Bay. New owners in 2006 brought many changes and improvements, and each accommodation is gradually being renovated. Accommodations are within a pair of two-story cement-sided buildings, each directly on the beach. Each room is high-ceilinged and relatively large, with a well-equipped kitchenette, a shower-only bathroom, and a very private screened-in veranda that's partially or fully concealed from the views of any of the other verandas. Attached to one of the buildings is an open-sided pavilion that functions as a bar and restaurant, open every Monday to Saturday for dinner. Note that the restaurant is also being renovated; call ahead to find out if it will be open when you check in.
