This row of modernized studios and one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments is strung along 500 feet of sandy beach on the north coast off North Shore Road. Its location, however -- near a housing development -- is a turnoff for some visitors. The apartments, with enclosed balconies, are staggered to provide privacy. Of course, all open toward the sea. Each unit has a fully equipped kitchen, delightful furnishings, full bathrooms, and ample closet space. When you tire of the sand, you can float in the pool, which is nestled beside a 300-year-old sugar mill.
