This is one of the best B&Bs on the island, owned and operated by the same staff that made the Greenleaf Inn at Boothbay Harbour one of the leading inns of New England. This snug family retreat still adheres to its New England inn-keeping tradition, offering personal service and the elegant ambience of a private home. It's very small, so make reservations well in advance. The building dates from the 1950s when it was a private home, but it's been completely renovated post-millennium. Four-poster beds are just some of the elegant details associated with the roomy bedrooms of this house. Each of the suites is individually decorated and imbued with muted Caribbean charm and grace. You'll spot the inn sitting atop a hill overlooking historic Salt River Bay, where Columbus landed. The location is to the west of Christiansted so you'll need a car for excursions down from the hill.
