Planning a Trip

Getting There

On a daily basis, there is one InterCity train every hour, departing from Budapest's Nyugati Station. The fare for an IC train is 3,820 Ft plus an additional fee for a seat reservation. The travel time is 2 1/2 hours. Once in Szeged, the building to the left of the station is where you can buy a one-day transportation pass for 750 Ft. Directly in the front of the station is tram no. 1, which will take you to Széchenyi tér, a perfect starting point for exploring the city. If you're driving from Budapest, take the M5 motorway south through Kecskemét and Kiskunfélegyháza.
