To save money, it may be best to take the breakfast and dinner (MAP) plan when reserving a room. There's a 10% value-added tax (VAT) on all hotel bills, and often a service charge of about 10%. In addition, there is a 15% service charge on other hotel charges (other than the room rate) and on restaurant bills. Don't forget to ask if the VAT and service charge are included in the prices quoted to you.
