Frommer's Review
This is one of the largest beachfront hotels on the island and it has a certain South Florida pizzazz. It's on Tobago's northern shore, near the airport. Most accommodations are in the two- and three-story main building, although about a half-dozen villas are scattered over the surrounding acreage. The designer incorporated a number of environmentally friendly features and used some recycled materials. The bedrooms are spacious and airy, filled with wicker furniture, and the big bathrooms are tiled in white with tub/shower combinations. Most rooms have an intricately trimmed balcony. In 1998, the hotel added 15 new suites with large balconies and patios overlooking the Caribbean and lush tropical gardens. These suites contain marble bathrooms equipped with tub/shower combinations and are embellished with hand-painted murals and custom-designed wicker furniture. The complex is near a trio of the island's best beaches -- Store Bay, Pigeon Point, and Coconut Beach itself, just steps from your room.
Tamara's, the resort's most formal restaurant, offers some of the most sophisticated food in Trinidad and Tobago.
