Frommer's Review
On an 8-hectare (20-acre) site 4km (2 1/2 miles) east of the airport is Tobago's first international hotel and the island's market leader. This five-star luxury resort rests on a 1,500m (4,900-ft.) beach with a mangrove forest in the background. The hotel is on the island's southwest coast and is part of a 300-hectare (740-acre) development that embraces a 36-hectare (89-acre) lagoon. With an 18-hole, par-72 championship PGA golf course, the hotel lures golfers from Mount Irvine Bay. It also lies in the heart of some of the best scuba-diving waters in the southern Caribbean. Rooms are tastefully and luxuriously furnished, and every suite has a Jacuzzi. Each unit opens onto ocean views and has a tub/shower combination.
The food is the finest on the island in terms of quality, although we still prefer our favorite local eateries, some mere dives. The best local bands are brought in and, overall, has more activities than all its rivals.
