Frommer's Review
This is another one of those casual neighborhood bistros offering great food at very reasonable prices that made its debut following the economic recession. As at most of the other restaurants, a cut in prices means a crowding of tables to accommodate as many diners as possible; except for the most special of occasions, I'll gladly settle for cheaper prices over spaciousness. Set dinner menus give a choice of a half-dozen main dishes, which might include the fish of the day, beef Burgundy, confit de canard, or noisettes de lamb au thym, along with a salad or side dish, bread, and coffee. My ¥1,050 ($10) lunch was one of the best Western meals I've had in Japan at that price -- a salad with boiled egg, chicken, mushrooms, and tomato, followed by whitefish on mashed potatoes with an eggplant-tomato sauce subtly flavored with curry.
