This huge, rather sterile restaurant with room for more than 500 diners is a no-nonsense kind of place, where dining is the main order of the day. In that respect, it does mirror the many spacious, family-oriented restaurants that dominate the former British colony. To dispel any doubt, a diorama of the Hong Kong skyline takes up an entire wall. Rather than a menu, all-you-can-eat dim sum is available from pushcarts that weave their ways throughout the dining room. Approximately 50 different dishes are offered, including spring rolls, fried dumplings (gyoza), steamed shrimp dumplings, braised bean curd with hot and spicy sauce, roast Peking duck, and sweet-and-sour vegetables. Peruse the offerings, and take what looks good. Desserts are served from a buffet.
