Frommer's Review
This is a good choice if you want to be close (about a 6-min. walk) to Roppongi's night action, yet somewhat removed. Opened in 1984, the hotel attracts Japanese businessmen on weekdays and 20-something vacationers on weekends, and caters to them with a cheerful young staff, modern designs with bold colors, and a resortlike atmosphere. The hotel wraps around an inner courtyard, which features a pool with a Jacuzzi and heated deck -- a solar mirror on the roof directs sun rays toward the sunbathers below, making it Tokyo's only outdoor heated pool open year-round. Unfortunately for the shy, sides of the raised pool are see-through acrylic, giving diners at the adjacent outdoor patio unique ringside views. Rooms are small but bright and modern.
Facilities:
4 restaurants; outdoor heated pool and Jacuzzi open year-round (fee: ¥1,000/$9.50); sauna; limited room service (11am-9pm); same-day laundry/dry-cleaning service; nonsmoking rooms
