Kyoto -- Japan's capital for more than 1,000 years -- is known for the high quality of its craftsmanship. This small shop sells lacquerware, sake, jewelry, textiles, incense, confections, and other souvenirs and gifts produced in Kyoto. It also serves as an information center for tourists interested in Kyoto and even offers a monthly class in flower arranging (free), the tea ceremony (¥500/$4.75), or another cultural pursuit. Open daily 10:30am to 7:30pm; closed irregularly two Sundays of every month.
